Members of the Royal Family will come together on Saturday 15 June to mark The King's official birthday with the annual Trooping the Colour parade. The event, which takes place at Horse Guards Parade ground in London, will see The King and other members of the Royal Family on horseback, accompanied by the Household Division and the King's Guard.
The parade will be led by the Irish Guards, who will troop their colour (regimental flag) past The King. Other regiments taking part will include the Grenadier Guards, the Coldstream Guards, the Scots Guards, the Welsh Guards, and the Royal Air Force. The parade will also feature a flypast by the Royal Air Force.
Trooping the Colour has marked the official birthday of the British Sovereign for more than 260 years. The first Trooping the Colour ceremony was held in 1748 during the reign of King George II.
